Mindfulness Meditation: Introduction and Benefits. Part 1 (3 min)

In my first post about meditation, I explain the benefits of general meditation and I share a few personal tips on how to get started. If you haven’t checked it out, now is a good opportunity to go and read it. You’ll see all the different types of meditation I’ll try to explain too.

Mindfulness meditation is a mental training practice that teaches you to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both your mind and body. It combines meditation with the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness can be defined as a mental state that involves being fully focused on "the now," allowing you to acknowledge and accept your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment.

"Mindfulness meditation techniques can vary, but generally, they involve deep breathing and awareness of the body and mind. You don't need any props or preparation to practice mindfulness meditation (unless you enjoy using candles, essential oils, or mantras). To get started, you need a comfortable place to sit, three to five minutes of free time, and a judgment-free mindset."
